One Fine Adventure: Near Badaling, Beijing, China
I was fortunate enough to visit a lightly restored and vacant stretch of the Great Wall near Badaling about two hours outside of Beijing. Our guides from Leo Hostel in Beijing were incredible and understood that we were not interested in seeing the highly renovated and frequently visited and photographed areas of the Wall. We arrived in the early morning a few short days after the cherry trees had begun to blossom. The air was cool and more clear than normal. Despite being hours away from Beijing the pollution of the city still lingers in the valleys. Our hike was cut short by deteriorated terrain on the Wall, but the experience of being the only people on the Wall with an incredible view of hills and valleys stretching for miles was nothing short of inspiring. Seeing hills several miles away, crowned in crumbling sections of the Wall, was an experience that will not soon be forgotten.

Great photo Love the depth expressed here.
Now that I see it...I realize I actually never saw the Great Wall of China, even in photos.
