Wuxi, Jiangsu, China: 29th Floor Series

This image was actually captured on the roof of my building, but since that is only one floor above my apartment I will be including it in the 29th Floor Series. The view from my place and the roof is amazing and it really helps me to put the size of China's urban sprawl into perspective. From the roof I can seen several other cities on a clear day. The hard part of seeing the other cities is getting the clear day.

This is an impressive photo, especially for us in the West. You can really see the contrast between the new and the old, the modern and the classic and that gives a vibrant life to this picture. The B&W helps giving an eerie look and kind of a 20's look to it and the cranes on the top of the building give temporal movement.
Unfortunately, the end result turned out overall a bit dark. The shadows could have been pulled up a bit so that we could all bask in the extremely detailed lower half of the picture, and if possible, not so much sky. It shifts your attention away. I don't know the framing conditions of the picture, but, maybe in landscape, you would have been able to capture yet more city.
I absolutely love the effect given by the 20mm focal length, it gives a "Gotham city" feel to the picture.
Congratulations on a great capture, and I will suggest that this picture will be moved into the Group's Architecture gallery.
